Staunisier

What the fuck is going on on Europ? Would it be necessary tolive in USA to be able to criticize complete idiots? Such as Harun Yahya?

Turkish ass shuts down a slice of the internet

Unbelievable. , aka , the Turkish crackpot , didn’t like the fact that his critics wrote mean things about him … so he applied to a Turkish court to have all WordPress blogs blocked. And the court accepted his argument, and no one in Turkey has been able to access anything from WordPress.com for a day or two now.

Man, I was once mooned on the freeway by a guy in a Chevy. Does this mean I can get Chevrolet to recall all of their cars in the state of Minnesota now? That would sure teach him.

That fanatical nitwit wrote in to wordpress to brag about his accomplishment and demand that blogs that offend him be shut down, such as this one, and by the way, he’d also like all these blogs censored:

http://adnanoktar.wordpress.com
http://adnanoktarveislam.wordpress.com/
http://fitikado.wordpress.com
http://oktarbabuna.wordpress.com
http://adnancilar.wordpress.com/
http://adnanoktarveislam.wordpress.com/
http://whoisharunyahya.wordpress.com/
http://adnanoktargercekleri.wordpress.com/
http://quiestharunyahya.wordpress.com/
http://harunyahyaarabic.wordpress.com/
http://safsataciharunyahya.wordpress.com/
http://savsatalaracevap.wordpress.com/

It sure would be a shame if someone echoed all those urls, and these anti-creationist blogs got more publicity and attention because of a stunt by Adnan Oktar, now wouldn’t it?

It is easy to treat this as a joke and an amazing act of pig-headed stupidity by a creationist, but we shouldn’t forget the scary part: a government with a pious judiciary was rather easily inclined to endorse mass, indiscriminate censorship on the whim of an evil clown.

P.S. Here’s a way to get around the block — you can still read and post to WordPress blogs in Turkey if you use OpenDNS. Spread the word.

…that Intelligent Design isn’t science.

In another thread there’s a discussion about specified complexity. I think the problem with specification is it’s a subjective measure but it shouldn’t be hard to understand. Most people intuitively recognize it and draw conclusions from it. (emphasis mine)

Incursion

Source: Benedict argued that evolution had a rationality that the theory of purely random selection could not explain.
« The process itself is rational despite the mistakes and confusion as it goes through a narrow corridor choosing a few positive mutations and using low probability, » he said. (emphasis mine – OldCola)

No, I’ll bet B-16 doesn’t think that either. For a more credible idea of Catholic thought on the subject, go here

[here linked to ARN, one of her own post dated 06/07/06!
Denyse knows better and in advance ;-)].

Yikes!, some will argue, pornography is very offensive and degrading of the human condition. Ok, and why wouldn’t that apply to some religious accounts? (ed note: Notice that « some. ») Religious belief systems have historically done both of those things, and religious beliefs are a large part of why we have (and continue to engage) engaged in wholesale slaughter in this world. This is not to equate pornography and religion at all, some religions are very nice and kindly thank you very much. Still, the claim to offensiveness can be leveled against religion also, especially when the state cannot express a preference or limit what kind of religious belief we should hold (as in here in the U.S.).

what is it?

I was summarizing my posts about Anne Dambricourt, wandering if there is enough staff to make a short paper. The answer is probably no, this kind of elements are available on books already. But the I came across that:

As I like building models I set up a few variations around my central idea which came during the debate: cumulative mutations in a single genetic spot progressively leading to a threshold over which phenotypic variations appears suddenly due to the intervention of a second genetic element. [as I’m expecting et al to answer the question « what is it? » I’ll edit this part later to insert the known example]. It takes a little bit more complexity to make it appear discontinuous and accelerating over time, but is just a little bit more, nothing really complex.

And this is the last call! I’ll give them some more time.
